What will the Gala programming look like?

We look forward to meeting everyone where they are when it comes to comfort with a large gathering.
You are welcome to attend the portions of the gala that you would like! Of course, we know that things will change between now and the Gala, and that is okay too.  We ask that you take your best guess as to what you would like to do on February 5th now, and we can always make amendments later! The Gala Committee will follow all CSAIR Covid guidelines at the time of the event. That said, your celebration options are as follows:

Celebrate Fully in Person

  • 4:30-5:45 PM: Partake in a buffet dinner - Masking optional.

  • 6:00- 6:15 PM: Begin to move to seats to begin the program.

  • 6:15- 7:45 PM: Program and Maariv (celebrating our honorees) - A section where masks will be required will be available in the sanctuary for those who feel more comfortable sitting exclusively with masked people. Masks otherwise will be optional in the rest of the sanctuary.  Dessert and coffee/tea are served following the program! Schmoozing as the celebration continues - Masking optional.

Celebrate Partially in Person
(For those who would prefer to avoid communal eating)

  • 6:00- 6:15 PM: Arrival time

  • 6:15- 7:45 PM: Program (celebrating our honorees) followed by Maariv (evening service). Note: A mask-only section will be available in the Sanctuary for those who feel more comfortable sitting exclusively with masked people. Masks will be optional in the rest of the Sanctuary.

Fully Remote

  • 6:15- 7:45 PM: Join us on live stream for the program and Maariv.

What are my options for how I can engage?

The program will start at approximately 6:00 PM and last until 7:30 PM with dessert to follow. The following choices are available for you on the registration form.

  • I will celebrate and dine in person.

  • I would like 100% of my donation to go to CSAIR so I do not need to dine at the gala but plan to attend the gala in person.

  • I would like 100% of my donation to go to CSAIR so I do not need to dine at the gala and intend on live streaming the gala.

That said, if you are not feeling well on February 5, please stay home and take care of yourself.  Celebrate with us at home via live stream.  Contact your doctor if that is appropriate.  We request this on your behalf and on behalf of the community.

Do I need to buy a ticket if I just want an ad?

The gala, after all, is a fundraiser for the shul, so if you plan on attending the gala we ask that you purchase a ticket or tickets alongside your ad purchase. If buying a ticket is financially burdensome, please reach out to Rabbi Greenberg, as we have members of the shul who have purchased tickets to share with others.

What will Covid precautions look like during the 2023 Gala?

Our gala will follow our current COVID protocols at CSAIR. Masking is optional, however, we will have a mask-required section in the sanctuary. During the dining portions of the gala, it is fair to assume that no one attending will be masked. That said, if you would prefer not to engage in the dining portion of the gala, we would encourage you to arrive close to 5:45 PM, and plan to depart after Maariv around 7:30 PM.
