Club 613

Come join us for Club 613: a new and exciting Shabbat
morning experience for 1st - 8th graders at CSAIR

Club 613 was created through the collaborative efforts of the CSAIR professional staff and a group of dedicated parent volunteers who share an innovative and ambitious vision of what a Shabbat morning experience could be for all CSAIR kids. The vision includes engaging experiences combining davenning (prayer), active learning, participant choice, peer leadership, and lots of fun.

Club 613 is designed for all children in grades 1 to 8, and meets every other Shabbat morning from 10:30am - 11:30am. The morning begins with everyone in the Beit Midrash for a brief Torah service that includes kids reading sections from the Torah! Any child can volunteer to be a Torah reader! If your child would like to read Torah as part of Club 613, please send an email to In addition, Cantor Stevens ( is available to work with your children if they are interested in learning how to do this.

Following the short service, the participants break into smaller groups and choose one of several fun electives. The choices vary each week, but some examples are:

  • Torah yoga
  • Parsha Legos
  • CSAIR game shows
  • Drama
  • Shabbat board games

Lots of volunteers, including Mason (CSAIR Education Director) and Josh (Shabbat Kids Coordinator and Hebrew School K-1 teacher), keep the action educational and, of course, fun! We also harness the energy of kids in grades 6-8 who serve as junior madrichim (counselors), helping to facilitate activities. Our 6-8 graders meet in the Board room at the beginning of each session to plan for the morning.
